The Printer Operator works closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure the printing a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Duties And
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Front-end Operators responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsibility of maintaining activities of the printer/decorator beverage cans with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and SpoilageAbility to operate, safe operation, and the maintaining of decorator equipmentCommunicates all pertinent information between the supervisor, quality control, departments, and between shifts on changes to equipment, production problems or any other related informationAssists and trains and/or coaching of all new operators as needed or requiredApplies skills, methods to improve plant productionInspects product to ensure compliance to quality standards Responsible in maintaining quality and modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal efficienciesComplete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, schedule, monthly SAFE cards, accident/near miss/hazard reporting and process control sheetsPerforms other job-related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications:
In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements High School Education/GED 2-3 year(s) in setup/operating/adjusting printing decorators in a manufacturing environmentAble to operate, read, understand, measuring x rite color density guage, and computersMust be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional supportPreferred Requirements 10 Hour OSHA Certification Operation of a Rutherford Printer Beverage Packaging industry experience Ink toning knowledge Competencies Problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approachAbility to work independently or with a teamWith consensus be able to look at new solutions and think outside the boxEffective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etcDemonstrated good relations skills and the ability to motivate or team with peopleExcellent time management skills and multi-taskingExcellent oral and written communication skills.
Computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.
) Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
