Inventory Supervisor

PURPOSE OF POSITION


Directs and coordinates inventory of all raw materials and finished good.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES


Administers cycle count daily to ensure that the entire facility is counted in a 2-week cycle.


Monitors the inventory control system to ensure accuracy.


Establishes policies and procedures to ensure timely flow for tracking the physical inventory.


Directs and completes end of month and year end inventory.


Research problems before adjustments are made to inventory.


Ensures safe work practices and procedures are enforced and followed.


Compiles, stores, and retrieves material data. Performs other duties as assigned by management.


DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Directly supervises hourly employees in the Inventory department.


Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


High school graduate or equivalent required.


Minimum of 3 years' experience in a warehouse environment.


Familiarity with high volume shipping and receiving techniques.


Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Strong computer skills including mainframe interface experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office, and MS Office Suite preferred.


The candidate must have the interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with upper management as well as internal and external customers.


The individual must be a self-starter, able to make sound decisions and initiate action without prior counseling or direction.


Good analytical and problem solving abilities necessary.


Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.


Ability to calculate figures.


Ability to apply concepts of basic math.


Ability to read, write, and interpret business reports, business correspondence and procedures.


Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS


Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.


Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.


Must be able communicate on the telephone for lengthy periods.


Must be able to operate a computer and keyboard with accuracy and efficiency.


The employee will be exposed to extreme temperatures and dust.


Must be able to hear signals of floor equipment and alarms.


Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
