Safety Administrative Assistant

Primary Responsibilities

  • Completing a broad variety of administrative tasks for the Safety Department, including scheduling, record keeping, inventory management, etc.
  • Taking minutes during meetings and communicating/following up on action items.
  • Working closely with various departments with the organization on training compliance and safety initiatives.
  • Researching and reporting on various metrics and topics.
  • Designing and editing safety procedures, technical documents, and other work products within the Safety Department.
  • Composing correspondence and postings pertaining to safety information.
  • Arranging travel plans, itineraries and agendas.
  • Working closely and effectively with the Safety Director to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities and following up appropriately. Acting as a "barometer," having a sense for the issues taking place in the environment and keeping the Safety Director updated.
  • Prioritizing conflicting needs, handling matters expeditiously, proactively, and following through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
  • Managing expenditures for the Safety Department.

Computer Skills

  • Must be tech savvy and a quick learner
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
